That will bring up a page showing the contents of your vault. When you open the vault online, you can Export the vault from the settings page. dat file as an import feature for another password manager. That explains why it is not possible to use a backed up. The password vault has always had a password to encrypt your vault data. Using the browser extensions does allow you to open your passwords on your computer. Right now, all those 'backups' are totally useless because of the security encryption built into the product. It would be very helpful IF Norton produced an app that would allow us to at least open our passwords on our computers.

I cannot affect any change in product features. TIA for any help you can render, beyond telling us to suck it up. Oh how I *wish* you could supply a solution to this current mess that has affected a lot more people than just me. I see where you have provided 1939 solutions on this forum. Right now, the backup DAT files are totally USELESS without the ability to open and read them.

So they *did* screw a lot of us up when their Patch removed our ability to open the backups of our encrypted passwords. On those occasions, I could access my "Local" (whatever name you want to call it) and get the passwords necessary to pay bills on other sites. Like I mentioned in another post.when Norton Servers were down (as they often have been) you could not access the Cloud PM until they got it fixed on their end, nor could you "sign on" to your Norton Account. I DID need to access my "notes" and 'saved' passwords locally on more than one occasion.

I *was* able to access my 'local vault" (Cloud based backup or whatever you choose to call it) without an internet connection.
